To me who was a child at that time
Eight years have passed since the massive tsunami hit the Tohoku region of Japan. The town that was damaged by the tsunami was renewed and the number of lights in the town increased. I've been covering the places where the tsunami happened, but I've never had a chance to talk to young people. What do they think of as children at the time? I wanted to know what the tsunami brought to them.

To me who was a child at that time
Mana Shimizu 18 years old. Kesennuma, Miyagi. 15 Feb 2019. Mana plans to go to school in Tokyo. The tsunami hit Kesennuma when she was ten years old.
She saw her house hit by a tsunami as she evacuated. After the tsunami, she lived in Fukushima for about a year and came back to Kesennuma. Losing her place of memory and relationships, she no longer sees Kesennuma as her hometown. However, she met a supporter and an art activist in Kesennuma and found her place. She wants to work on art in the future.
